Welcome to the “CogBI Server Setup” tutorial. This tutorial explains the initial setup of the CogBI Server that you will use to securely transmit data stored in SQL Databases to your CogBI iOS app.
CogBI Server: Users of CogBI Premium use CogBI Server to query SQL databases and send the results to the CogBI iOS app. CogBI Server is a lightweight application that runs as a background service on the Windows operating system, it’s used to manage all aspects of the CogBI platform. The following features are available through CogBI Server:
Users Administration: This feature is used to create and manage the users that have access to the CogBI platform. Several levels of authorizations can be assigned and modified depending on specific user’s roles.
SQL Databases Administration: This feature is used to connect CogBI to your existing SQL databases securely. SQL databases are added by inputting their corresponding connection string.
SQL Queries Administration: This feature is used to define and manage the SQL queries that will provide the data that will be used in CogBI. The CogBI Server will run this queries against your SQL database and it will securely transmit the results to the CogBI iOS app so that they can be used to create data visualizations and Dashboards.
Dashboard Permissions: This feature is used to manage how Dashboards are accessed and shared between users.
General Settings: This feature is used to manage general settings of the CogBI server.
